The waste collectors, called Swachata Mitras (Friends of Cleanliness) to do away with the social stigma attached with the word "rag-picker" or "sweeper", belong to the very low-income level of the society.

CDC has made efforts in providing identification, social recognition, creating awareness about health care and sanitary practice at work site as well as personal end.

Waste Management

CDC is involved in various projects for the government, benefitting the communities and stakeholders at a micro level. The projects involve door to door collection and transportation of waste, processing of waste, and integrated waste management for communities as a whole.
